This piece is a part of my Comparative Study. Its theme is about the anti-Chinese hate triggered by COVID-19. The Matryoshka doll symbolizes the “world family”, and the Chinese doll (represented by her Chinese clothing) being pulled away symbolizes alienation. The iron ball is in the shape of coronavirus and the flag of China being placed all over the world, to show how the anti-Chinese hate is amplified by COVID and people’s worry over China’s increasing global influence. The only color red represents China, virus, attack and madness.
